The Department of Community Services (DCS) promotes, supports and celebrates volunteer engagement in Cecil County through:

  • Volunteer Cecil logoVolunteer Cecil - a web-based system connecting individuals with volunteer opportunities.  Organizations utilizing volunteers have access to the web-based system to post needs and events. Volunteer Cecil is managed by the Community Partnerships Division and supported by the Community Services Foundation, Inc.
  • The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) - a grant-funded initiative through the Corporation for National and CRetired and Senior Volunteer Program logoommunity Service, which strives to place adults 55+ in meaningful service activities. Older volunteers receive assistance in finding just the right volunteer spot where they can use their experience and passion for the greater good.  Residents ages 55 and older may call 410-996-8439 for more information on RSVP.
  •  Cecil Cares - an annual, countywide day of service held in the fall.  Cecil Cares is coordinated by a planning committee comprised of representatives from local organizations.  The day is supported by Upper Shore Regional Council. For more information on the 2020 event, email or call 410-996-8416.
  • A wide variety of volunteer opportunities within DCS like: Home Delivered Meals, Medical Transportation, Telephone Reassurance, Fitness Volunteers, Volunteer Ombudsman...and more!
