It's Time to Submit Your Project Ideas for Cecil Cares 2019!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 11, 2019
ELKTON, MD – Cecil County Department of Community Services (DCS) will sponsor Cecil Cares 2019 – a countywide day of service – on Saturday, October 5th. Now in its fourth year, the event offers Cecil County residents the opportunity to volunteer their time, energy and skills with local organizations (nonprofits, faith based/service organizations, government agencies) on a variety of hands-on service projects throughout the county.
Last year's event was supported by 11 organizations, 13 projects, and involved more than 160 volunteers, including Cecil County Animal Services, Deep Roots, Elkton Community Kitchen, Fair Hill Nature Center, Habitat for Humanity, Master Gardeners, Watershed Stewards, Cecil Transit, DCS Community Wellness Division, Voices of Hope and The Paris Foundation.
While DCS is looking forward to partnering with many of the returning organizations, new groups and volunteers, new family-friendly and student-participation projects are welcomed and encouraged. Previous projects include playground/trail cleanup, painting, food/donation drives, neighborhood cleanup and planting or landscaping.
Applications for Cecil Cares 2019 projects will be accepted through August 2nd. Project registration forms and instructions can be found online.
A list of projects will be posted online at www.volunteercecil.org by late August. Volunteers may sign up for the various projects at that time. Any questions concerning Cecil Cares 2019 may contact Krista Gilmore at 410-996-8416 or email@example.com.
