MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH

 

July 19, 2005

 

 

            The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Commissioner’s Board Room 107 North Street, Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, July 19, 2005. The following members of the Board were present:

 

            Nelson K. Bolender, President

            Harry A. Hepbron, Vice President

            William C. Manlove, Commissioner

            Mark H. Guns, Commissioner

            Dr. Virginia Bailey

 

            Constituting a full Board.

 

            The Cecil County Community Health Survey 2004 Report was presented to the Board. Dr. Bailey explained that this Survey was tabulated from 1,567 responses that were received as a result of a survey form that was mailed randomly to Cecil County residents.

 

            Dr. Bailey reviewed the report with the Board and summarized results pertaining to demographic information; general health status of residents, preventative health status, children’s health; health care access, tobacco, alcohol & drug use; and the data comparisons to the last survey conducted in 1999.

 

            Dr. Bailey presented the Communicable Disease Report for 2004; this was a comparison chart from 1999 though 2004. She also presented the “Back to School Immunization Clinic Schedule” for the 2005-06 School Year and an update on the Bathing Beach Sampling Program thus far for the season.
