MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH

February 21, 2006

The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Commissioner’s Board Room 107 North Street, Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. The following members of the Board were present:

Harry A. Hepbron, Vice President
William C. Manlove, Commissioner
Mark H. Guns, Commissioner
Dr. Virginia Bailey

Constituting a full Board.

The Cecil County Health Department has released the Cecil County Health Profile 2005. This profile includes information based on several sources, including the Cecil County Community Health Survey of 2004, the Alcohol and Drug Council, the Cancer, Tobacco, Accidents, Lifestyles & Nutrition Task Force. This profile will be available at several locations throughout the County.

The Cecil County Drug Court will begin a Test Pilot Program beginning in March.

The Division of Community Health Services is currently working on a statewide Internet-based data system that receives and stores immunization records for children and adults. Health care providers and health departments are able to enter immunization information on clients seen in private offices and public immunization clinics. The Health Department is working to enroll local physician offices in ImmuNet and to provide training for office staff.

The annual wet season soil testing began on February 1.
