In order to promote the arts as well as Cecil County, the Office of Tourism is sponsoring a contest for  photographers.  Entries may be submitted from June 5, 2008 through November 5, 2008.

We are looking for entries that "best capture the spirit of Cecil County".  Photos that feature any place, activity, or event within the county are welcome.

The winning entries will be featured on this website and receive awards as indicated on the guidelines.  Entries may also be used in other Cecil County promotional media.  Only printed photo entries may be submitted.

Selecting the winning photographs for this contest is difficult. We receive many beautiful pictures. Since this contest is about Cecil County, judging has to reflect not only the quality of the photograph but how well it represents the county to our visitors. Below are some of the photos worth noting. We'd like to include a special word of encouragement to Kyle McNeice for his bird photos. Kyle is only 6 years old. And sometimes there is the humorous photo that would be hard to identify as Cecil County (other than it is an agricultural county) so we selected it just for the humor - see the Cecilton Gourds.
