In order to promote the arts as well as Cecil County, the Office of Tourism sponsors a bi-annual contest on alternate years for photographers and poets. The upcoming contest for 2008 is the poetry contest. The next photography contest will be in 2009.

Each contest has separate guidelines and two categories, one for residents of Cecil County, MD, and one for visitors (non-residents) to the County. In both contests, we are looking for entries that "best capture the spirit of Cecil County".

The winning entries will be featured on this website and receive a cash award of $100. Entries may also be used in other Cecil County promotional media. Click on the photo contest and poetry contest links for more details about each.

The Office of Tourism also sponsors various media-related contests throughout the year. These media-related contests require online registration. When these contests are offered, you can register using the link that will be provided on this website.
