Land Needed for Regional Cecil County Park

Rising Sun, MD  - The Cecil County Board of Parks and Recreation request land acquisition proposals for 200+ acres suitable for a large regional recreational park.  In accordance with the County Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan, the proposed recreational facility should be located in the I-95/Route 40 corridor in order to serve county-wide needs; however, all county locations submitted will be considered.

The proposed park would be designed to meet the current and future demand for baseball/softball diamonds, multi-purpose fields and trails, and provide a location for fairs and festivals, as well as, other resource based recreational activities for all ages.  

Property owners should submit a letter of interest with the following information:  property owner, property address and acreage, copy of the deed of record, asking price, and any other information that would qualify the property for a regional park, to the Board of Parks and Recreation, 17 Wilson Road, Rising Sun, MD  21911 by November 1, 2006.  Site visits for proposed locations will be coordinated for the Board of Parks and Recreation through the County Parks and Recreation Department.
