Board of County Commissioners Appoint Director for the Office of Economic Development   

Elkton, MD - The Board of Cecil County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa L. Webb as the new Director for the Office of Economic Development. 

Ms. Webb has worked in the economic development field for over 10 years.  She was the Business Development Director for Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation for four years where she developed and managed county business development retention, attraction and expansion programs; lead outreach campaigns resulting in over $300MM capital investments and creation of over 1,400 jobs; created marketing initiatives and opportunities to attract prospective businesses; assisted in the development, process, and application of Senate Bill 206 (BRAC) and secured BRAC Zone designation for Odenton Town Center; and identified and promoted initiatives to strengthen Maryland's economic base through partnerships with business, education and government. 

She was Project & Policy Development Manager for Harford County's Office of Economic Development for more than 6 years and was responsible for development projects, liaison for development of the office's first annual report, strategic plan, employee work/action plans, and performance measures.  She also served as point of contact for infrastructure and impact analyses resulting from BRAC.  She coordinated with county and state agencies on policies and procedures, identified key areas for economic growth, assisted with site selection process, presentations, and marketing efforts and coordinated long-range planning efforts.   

She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).
