COUNTY COMMISSIONERS INTRODUCE CITIZEN'S CORNER
Elkton, MD – On Tuesday, December 6, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners kicked-off the first Citizen's Corner meeting at 6:00 p.m. to provide an opportunity for citizens to ask questions and address issues in an informal discussion format.
Over 25 citizens attended the first meeting and topics of discussion included Charter government, plans for economic development, growth corridor infrastructure, transportation, and drug abuse prevention issues. The open dialogue format permitted an exchange of information and ideas between Board members and the public. An audio recording of the meeting is available on the county website at http://www.ccgov.org/cattail/templates/displayevent.cfm?MonthChange=None&eventid=6905&LastDate=12/08/2011&calendarname=CommissionersMeetings
The Commissioners plan to continue the informal meetings prior to the monthly Commissioners meetings. The next Citizen's Corner is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Elk room of the County Administration Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton. The Commissioners encourage citizens to attend and participate in their local government.
