COMMISSIONERS ATTEND RIBBON CUTTING AND RECOGNIZE 4-H YOUTH DURING THE CECIL COUNTY FAIR

Elkton, MD – The Board of Cecil County Commissioners attended several events at the Cecil County Fair in support of agriculture and agricultural events in Cecil County. 

Commissioners Brian Lockhart, Rebecca Demmler, Jim Mullin, and Robert Hodge joined Secretary of the Department of General Services Alvin Collins, Senator Nancy Jacobs, Delegate David Rudolph, President of the Cecil County Fair Al Miller, Sheriff Barry Janney, and others in a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the addition of a new barn at the Fair Hill Department of Natural Resources Management area. 

President Lockhart stated, "The annual Cecil County Fair is a great opportunity to highlight agriculture and the contributions made by agricultural businesses to our community.  We appreciate the invitation to celebrate this accomplishment with the dedicated people who make this all happen." 

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, Commissioners Robert Hodge, Brian Lockhart, and Rebecca Demmler recognized the following youth with a certificate of recognition at an awards ceremony for their accomplishment as a Maryland 4-H Representative, or Maryland Delegate to the National 4-H Conference:

• Chelsea Davis - Dairy Judging Team
• Emily Ferver - Egg Preparation Demonstration Representative
• Rachel Ginn - Horse Quiz Bowl Team
• Steven Mason - Engineering Team in the Lawn Tractor discipline
• Nathan Metz - Engineering Team in the Small Engines discipline
• Erica Sprout - Horticulture Demonstration Representative
• Sam Zambuto - Engineering Team in the welding discipline
• Caroline Isaacson - Delegate to National 4-H Conference
• Ashley Larrimore - Delegate to National 4-H Congress
• Katie Larrimore - Delegate to National 4-H Conference

The Commissioners take this opportunity to congratulate all the kids who participate in the 4-H Program and thank all the dedicated volunteers who support the 4-H Program for youth in Cecil County.  Keep up the good work!
