The Voting System: Legislation passed in 2007 set in motion an election process that would incorporate a paper trail. After receiving the necessary funding in 2014, Maryland will now use a paper-dominant system for the 2016 election cycle. Please visit the State Board of Elections’ website for more information on the voting equipment.
Integrity and Security: Cecil County recently completed, in partnership with The State Board of Elections and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a poster showing how we protect the election process, systems and data (PDF). We hope that this information is useful and assures you that Maryland and Cecil’s election officials are serious about protecting our election systems and data and voters can be confident about the integrity of the election process. Visit the State Board of Elections' Election Security page for more details.
