The Cecil County Roads Maintenance Division is the largest operational division within the Department of Public Works.  At full operational employment, the division contains some 49 positions, four of which are temporary seasonal workers.  The remaining 45 positions cover Laborers for one of the three roads crews, bridge crew, or sign crew, Equipment Operators, Crew Leaders, and administrative staff, such as the Chief and Office Services Specialist.

The primary services provided by the Roads Maintenance Division are daily maintenance of and upgrades to county streets and drainage structures, all necessary emergency response actions from situations that include storm event flooding and downed trees to snow and ice removal.  This division is public service in its most direct approach.
