Invitation to Bid

Sealed bid proposals for "Meadowview Water Distribution Upgrades - Phase 1 Chestnut Drive Water Main Replacement" as described in the proposal package, for the Cecil County Government, Department of Public Works, Water and Wastewater Division will be received from qualified bidders until 1:30 PM, April 17th, 2007 at the Purchasing Office, 218 North Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

The project consists of replacing the 8" water main along Chestnut Drive and installing new service connections, water meter vaults and hydrants as shown on the drawings. The project also consists of installation of water valves at the intersection of Sycamore Road and Peach Road as shown on the drawings.

Additional specifications and/or instructions to bidders may also be obtained by calling the Purchasing Department, (David Pyle, Purchasing Agent), at 410-996-5395/5396 or e-mail DPYLE@CCGOV.ORG. Bid packages may be picked up at the Purchasing Office at a cost of $125.00 per package.

A Mandatory pre-bid information conference will be held on March 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Commissioners Board Room, County Administrative Building, 107 North Street, Elkton, MD 21921.  A site visit will immediately follow the pre-bid meeting. Bids will not be accepted from any contractors not attending this meeting.

Electronically submitted bid proposals will not be accepted.  Bid proposals will not be accepted from contractors who have not obtained original plans and documents from the Cecil County Purchasing Department.

Upon request, the Purchasing Office will provide vendor lists to requesting parties for all solicitations published unless a vendor/contractor provides a written request barring the disclosure of their information until after specific proposal award.  

LOCAL CONTRACTORS PREFERENCE:  Section 183-21 of the Cecil County Code provides for Local Preference whereby the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County reserves the right to show preference to local bidders in the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services.
