Invitation to Bid
Sealed bid proposals for construction of a "Chain Link Safety Fence at Dr. Jack Road, Bridge CE047" as described in the proposal package, for the Cecil County Government, Department of Public Works, Roads Division will be received from qualified bidders until 1:30 PM, February 27, 2007 at the Purchasing Office, 218 North Street, Elkton, MD 21921. The project includes but is not limited to the contractor furnishing all construction equipment, materials, labor and incidentals for the installation of a chain link safety fence for Bridge CE047 on Dr. Jack Road as described within the proposal specifications/attachments. Additional specifications and/or instructions to bidders may also be obtained by calling the Purchasing Department, (David Pyle, Purchasing Agent), at 410-996-5505/5506 or technical specifications contact Dan Webber, Roads Division Supervisor, at 410-996-6271. Bid packages shall be picked up at the Purchasing Office.
A mandatory Pre-bid will be held on February 16, 2007 at 8 am at the Roads Division Administrative Building at the same location (758 E. Old Philadelphia Road, Elkton MD). A site visit will immediately follow the pre-bid for interested contractors. All proposals submitted without attending the mandatory pre-bid shall be considered non-responsive.
Electronically submitted bid proposals will not be accepted. Bid proposals will not be accepted from contractors who have not obtained original plans and documents from the Cecil County Purchasing Department.
Upon request, the Purchasing Office will provide vendor lists to requesting parties for all solicitations published unless a vendor/contractor provides a written request barring the disclosure of their information until after specific proposal award.
LOCAL CONTRACTORS PREFERENCE: Section 183-21 of the Cecil County Code provides for Local Preference whereby the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County reserves the right to show preference to local bidders in the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services.
