Various schools in partnership with Cecil County Parks and Recreation Department will be offering after school enrichment programs in sports and arts from dismissal time until 5pm for elementary schools. The Sports and Arts schedule will vary from school to school and offerings will change from season to season. Please check this site regularly for updates and changes. See Flier for details.

Monday/Wednesday  for volleyball or Tuesdays/Thursdays for Flag Football from dismissal to 4:30pm. 8 weeks long. Starting September 14th. $30.00 or $5.00 drop in rate.

Held on Tuesdays for a 6 week session starting October 27th will be an enrichment Mosaics class from dismissal to 5pm, $30.00.

A winter session of Basic Painting will be offered starting Tuesday, January 5th for an 8 week session, $40.00

Fall session: Capture the Treasure, for grades 2-5. Scheduled to be held from dismissal to 5pm on Tuesdays beginning September 17th for 6 weeks. Cost, $30.00

The Cecil County Parks & Recreation Department will continue to accept registrations for our tutoring program for students in the 2nd - 8th grades throughout the school year. Participants will be tutored in selected subjects such as math, reading, spelling, and more. Tutoring sessions will take place in one hour blocks, usually scheduled in area libraries. Our tutors will interact with your child's teacher to better prepare your child for the high demands of the current school year. Furthermore, the one-to-one ratio will help your child develop that much faster.

Tutoring fees are $20 for each one hour session. All tutors are employees of the Parks and Recreation Department, and have been recruited from area High Schools, Colleges, and Universities. For more information contact the Department of Parks and Recreation

There will be four Junior Wrestling Programs in Cecil County starting the fall of '09. Rising Sun, North East and Perryville.

Elkton-November through March Wednesdays from 6-8 PM, Special pre-season open mat drop-in Wednesday during September and October. Elkton Highschool Auxiliary Gym.

Rising Sun-Registrations will be taken on Nov. 5th (At Cecil Arena) & 10th from 6-7:30pm for ages 5 - 14 at Rising Sun High School. Cost $45.00

North East-Registrations will be taken at the Recreation Office. The NE program is for ages 6 and up, costs $25.00.  Practices held at North East H.S..  High School and Adult wrestlers welcome Monday and Wednesday nights.

Perryville-Registrations will be taken November 5th & 12th from 6-8pm at Perryville High School. Cost $50.00.  www.perryvillewrestling.com

Fall Field Hockey for boys and girls ages kindergarten-8th grades is scheduled to be held Friday nights at the Cecil Arena.  A new 8 week session begins November 13th. The fee for the 8 week session is $40.00 for county residents and $50.00 for out of county residents.

Private Pitching Lessons

CCPR is accepting team applications for indoor league play. This program is scheduled to start Nov. 2nd and will
run for 6 weeks at the Cecil Arena, 2706 North East Rd. North East, MD 21901. Games are scheduled for Mondays or Wednesdays between the hours of 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Cost, $400.00 team plus ref fees and $50.00 per individual registrant.

Beginning January 3rd Cecil County Parks and Recreation will hold  a Lacrosse Winter Skills session at the Cecil Arena for 8 consecutive Sundays. These sessions will be geared towards returning players and those with a good foundation of lacrosse skills. Sessions are 1 hour. Cost, $60.00.  See registration form for details.
