Mission Statement
The Cecil County Government Information Technology Department will competently plan and manage applicable and functional technology within the budget constraints. Our objective is to deliver professional, timely, reliable and secure services. Delivery of accurate information to the citizens and employees of the county is imperative.
The team is aware of the tremendous growth opportunity that is upon us. We realize the accountability that we hold in migrating the county to a new level of capability for delivering services that require a reshaping of the information systems, business processes, rules, tools, and technology. We wish to fulfill high expectations of the citizens of this county for cost-effective and high quality government.
Description of Department Function
The Cecil County Government Information Technology Department provides networking, desktop support, programming services, computer purchasing, software purchasing and upgrades, software applications training for Cecil County employees. Miscellaneous technology is supplied to other County and State departments.
We have considerations for county-wide connectivity and close association and cooperation with the Economic Development Department.
Ongoing Priorities
- Provide a reliable and robust method of electronic information to the County Government in a proactive manner
- Ensure available county-wide technology for economic growth that is conducive to attracting desirable companies to locate within the county
- Maintain an informational and easy to use website that represents County Departments
and Elected Offices
- Provide the public with an accurate and reasonably paced method of obtaining a permit
- Provide and maintain a reliable and accurate method of document storage that will be available to designated employees, Administrative Offices, electronic systems and the website
