                               ACCOUNTANT

Cecil County Treasurer's Office is seeking an Accountant - FT with a starting salary of $43, 139 annually. This is an hourly rate of $20.74. (Grade 9N, Step 1). Full County benefits included with this position.

This professional, under general supervision, is responsible for various accounting practices such as bank reconciliations, federal grant program fiscal administration, general ledger, fixed asset and debt service management, federal and state financial reports.

Position requirements: Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited institution. Completed a minimum of 24 - semester hours of accounting to include a course in government Accounting is preferred; a valid Driver's License.

Duties: Include prepare trial balance; assist in encumbrance approval and the accounts payable cycle; prepares and maintains journal entries and related account analysis work in conformance with GAAP; prepares budget amendments; supervises fiscal year close-out procedures; assist auditors; prepares weekly, monthly, and annual financial status reports; reconciles bank statements;  performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
