  TEMPORARY SEASONAL LABORER - ROADS DIVISION

Cecil County Govt. Roads Division has an immediate opening for Temporary Seasonal Laborer. Wage is $10.40/hour and schedule is a 40 hour work week. Work schedule is four 10 hour days. Work up to 6 months, or as needed by department. Perform general laborer duties with Road crews. (Grade 2N) Must be willing to handle on call duties; may work in Cecilton, Nottingham, North East, or with Bridge Crew.

Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; required to work both under supervision and independently, when necessary. Applicant must be comfortable in working in all types of weather and working conditions. 

Duties: Include general laborer work such as weeding, mowing, digging ditches, shoveling, trash cleanup; may be asked operate equipment, if needed; must be able to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions; perform all duties as assigned by site supervisor.

                  EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - I

Cecil County Roads Division seeks an Equipment Operator I  with a starting hourly rate of $12.34. Safely operating light and heavy equipment under general supervision; performing all other duties as assigned. Excellent benefits are included with this position (Grade 4N, Step 1). Will be stationed at the Cecilton location.

Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; one (1) or more year's experience in operating and maintaining light/heavy equipment or equivalent technical training; a valid CDL – B is preferred; must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire; ability to work under general supervision.

Duties: Include the operation and maintenance of light/heavy equipment, including Class A and B vehicles; operate loader; dig ditches; flag traffic; may perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions for prolonged periods of time; shovel stone and blacktop; plow snow and salt roads; pick up trash; perform other duties as assigned; maintain vehicle and equipment records; and other duties as assigned.

          EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - 2, LANDFILL

Department of Public Works – Solid Waste Division seeks an Equipment Operator 2 with an hourly rate of $15.75. This is an annual salary of $32, 760. (Grade 6N, Step 1). Full County benefits are included; safely operate and maintain heavy equipment within the County's Landfill; perform all duties as assigned. 

Position requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; three (3) or more years' related experience operating and maintaining light/heavy equipment; CDL - A is preferred; or must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months, if hired.

Duties: Including, but not limited to, operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment; experience doing construction and/or highway construction site work; must have strong level of experience in safely operating Front End/Rubber Tire Loaders, Dozers, Backhoes, Excavators, Graders and Compactor; experience wearing all personal protective safety equipment.
