DEPUTY – LAW ENFORCEMENT Deputy Sheriff - FT
Cecil County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Deputy – Sheriff's with a starting salary of $39,270 per year (Grade 2LU). Performs experienced law enforcement work patrolling designated areas of Cecil County in order to serve and protect the public; this position is full time and includes excellent County benefits.

These assignments include positions in schools, communities, drug enforcement, K-9, etc. All deputies begin their career on patrol providing service to the citizens of Cecil County. Deputies are assigned a take home patrol vehicle and gain a strong sense of ownership in their communities by interacting with the residents, business owners, and visitors to the area. Often, their assignments require working together within the community with other police agencies.

· Possess emotional stability and personal integrity A Cecil County Deputy Sheriff Candidate (entry level) receives six months of training at the academy before becoming a Maryland certified, sworn law enforcement officer.

CORRECTIONAL OFFICER Honor - Loyalty - Discipline Do you have what it takes? Join our team, the Cecil County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer. As a Correctional Officer, you will provide public safety by ensuring the security and safety of inmates awaiting trial in Cecil County as well those incarcerated for 18 months or less. Advancement opportunities and special assignments are available. Starting salary is $15.77/hr. Eligibility for promotion to Deputy First Class begins at 14 months of employment; starting salary for DFC is $17.50/hr. Overtime is available and may be mandatory. Training and Uniforms are provided. $500 Sign-On Bonus.*
Position Requirements: High School diploma or GED; must be 18 years' of age; valid drivers' license with no more than 5 points on driving record; ability to work various shifts as well as overtime without advance notice; and pass a thorough background investigation. Paid training and uniforms provided. No prior corrections experience necessary. All personnel are essential and must be available for shift work, able to work weekends and holidays! Shifts are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. A shift differential of $.75 will be applied for Officers assigned the 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am shifts.
Duties: Officers supervise daily operations and inmate activities, such as internal movement, work details and program participation. Record keeping and report writing skills are utilized on a daily basis. The ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals is critical.
