What is the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)?
RSVP, an initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service, seeks to engage individuals ages 55 and older in meaningful volunteer opportunities within their communities. RSVP provides Americans 55 and older the opportunity to apply their life experiences in meeting community needs. Through their service in various volunteer-based organizations, RSVP volunteers can improve the lives of others, nurture personal relationships, and enrich their own lives. (By the way, you do not have to be retired to join RSVP!)
Benefits to joining RSVP through Senior Services & Community Transit include:
Being a member of a nation-wide volunteer organization
Assistance with finding the right volunteer opportunity
Supplemental automobile, liability and injury insurance while volunteering
