Community Transit, in partnership with the Maryland Transit Administration, promotes accessible transit opportunities for Cecil County residents of all ages. Cecil County's Community Transit Office is located at 200 Chesapeake Blvd.  in Elkton. "THE BUS" is a fixed route public transportation system, involving bus stops and set times, for all ages.  There are two bus routes; one provides service between Elkton and Glasgow, via Route 40.  The second provides service between Elkton and Perryville, also via Route 40.  The C.T. Cruiser bus routes provide curb to curb service for all ages.  Appointments to ride must be made in advance and are scheduled on a first come first served basis. The C.T. Cruiser operates Monday through Friday, with the exception of County Government holidays and inclement weather. Our C.T. Cruisers also provide transportation to the Elkton and Perryville Centers. If you need a ride, call 410.996.5295 today!

We're also committed to helping you choose a healthier lifestyle. In May 2004, we opened a "first of its kind" in Cecil County - the Healthy Lifestyles Fitness Center. This special Fitness Center has been designed for adults age 55+ and offers a safe, professional environment where older adults are taking the first step to becoming fit. Our fitness program offers Certified Personal Trainers who will design your personal work out plan, Keiser equipment, improved balance skills, and an overall improved sense of well being. Our monthly rates are reasonable and our members are enjoying the opportunity to increase their strength and mobility, while making new friends in the process.

Community Volunteer Resource Guide (.pdf)

Volunteers are one of our most valuable resources. If you have been wondering what to do with your free time, if you have a desire to help your community, or if you have always wanted to make a difference, it's never too late! Our volunteers assist with many of our programs: Home Delivered Meals, Telephone Reassurance, Medical Transportation, our Fitness Center, the Senior Buddy Program, and much, much more. They give as much time as they have, as often as they are able. We invite you to join them by taking that first step. Call or email (kgilmore@ccgov.org) our Volunteer Coordinator, Krista Gilmore, for some ideas of how to begin.

Give an hour - and who knows? You just may change a life!
