            The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.  The following members of the Board were present:

            William C. Manlove, President

            Mark H. Guns, Vice President

            Rebecca Demmler, Commissioner

            Brian Lockhart

            Wayne Tome, Commissioner

            Stephanie Garrity, Health Officer

            Constituting a full Board.

            Stephanie Garrity, Cecil County Health Officer, presented the June Bathing Beach Sampling update.  Samples have been collected at 19 public beaches and private community beaches on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly scheduled based on prioritization of the beach.  Of the 5 occasions when bacterial standards were exceeded, 3 occurred on Monday, June 16 at beaches on the North East River, since that time only one beach, at Sandy Hill Camp on the Elk River, has exceeded standards.

            The Health Department will continue regular weekly sampling through the end of August as results are posted to the Heath Department's website at www.cecilcountyhealth.org as they become available.

            The Cecil County Health Department has announced the scheduled for the annual "Back to School Immunization Clinics" on August 5, 2008 and September 23, 2008.
