MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH

 March 6, 2007

            The Cecil County Board of Health met in the County Administrative Building, 107 North Street, Elkton, Maryland onTuesday,March 6, 2007.  The following members of the Board were present:

             William C. Manlove, President

            Mark H. Guns, Vice President

            Rebecca Demmler, Commissioner

            Brian Lockhart, Commissioner

            Wayne L. Tome, Sr.Commissioner

            Dr. Virginia Bailey

             Constituting a full Board.

             An update on the Food Protection Program regulated through the Environmental Health Division was presented to the Board by Dr. Bailey.  A number of different types of facilities are licensed in addition to restaurants, including groceries, bakeries school cafeterias, caterers, and fraternal, volunteer & civic organizations.  In addition, there are several categories of special food service facility licenses, including mobile units and temporary facilities such as those open during fairs, festivals, carnivals and other special events.  A total of 731 food service facility licenses were issued in Cecil County during the past fiscal year.

             The retirement of Joe Moore was announced by Dr. Bailey.  Mr. Moore is retiring with over 41 years of service.
