The Cecil County Board of Health met at the County Administrative Building, 200 Chesapeake Blvd., Elkton, Maryland on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. The following members of the Board were present:
Brian L. Lockhart, President Rebecca J. Demmler, Vice President Wayne L. Tome, Sr., Commissioner Robert J. Hodge, Commissioner James T. Mullin, Commissioner Stephanie Garrity, Health Officer
Constituting a full Board.
Stephanie Garrity, Cecil County Health Officer, presented the quarterly report, October - December, 2008 reporting Cecil County Health Department activities.
Mr. Charles Smyser, Environmental Health, Director, presented the Board with a brief overview of the Bay Restoration Fund Grant. The Environmental Health Services Division submitted a proposal to Maryland Department of Environment requesting $600,000 in funding for Cecil County, which should be sufficient for approximately 40 septic system upgrades. Priority for the grants will go to systems in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area, particularly systems which are currently failing. > |
