Robert Hodge began serving his first term as Commissioner of the Fifth District on December 8, 2008. He is a long-time Cecil County business owner, and lives on a cattle and horse farm outside of North East. He earned Bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Agricultural Economics from Pennsylvania State University. |

Commissioner Hodge will represent the Board of Commissioners as a member of the following organizations:

- Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Board (SPCA)
- Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) - alternate
- Upper Shore Aging Housing Corporation
In 2004, Robert was recognized by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) for his participation in the Maryland Scrap Tire Program. In 2007, he was a recipient of the U.S. Marine Corps Commander's Award for the Toys for Tots Program, and he is a 2005 graduate of the Cecil Leadership Institute. Commissioner Hodge is committed to improving the transparency and accountability of our County government, being a good steward of the taxpayer's dollars, preserving the rural character we enjoy in Cecil County, and implementing the Comprehensive Plan, among many other things.
