The Board of County Commissioners appoints a full-time County Administrator in accordance with Division 1 - Code of Public Laws, Part 1 - Administrative Legislation, Chapter 4 of the County Code.
The County Administrator is assigned executive responsibilities and powers to administer and implement County policies and procedures; supervise the operation of ten county departments; serve as the liaison between the Board of Commissioners and county departments and agencies; and performs other duties as assigned by the Commissioners.
Alfred C. Wein, Jr. assumed the duties of the County Administrator on December 7, 1998, after serving as the County Director of Planning, Zoning, Parks and Recreation. He has served Cecil County Government for 18 years, and has worked in local government in Cecil County for a total of 25 years.
