We are so incredibly grateful for all of the offers to help clean-up the Bittersweet property. It’s a testament to the strong, supportive community of people we have in Cecil County. While our crews have begun some maintenance, the ground is still very soft at the park and the likelihood of getting stuck in the mud is great. We are working to create a safe, usable parking lot. When it is complete, we will schedule some public clean-up days! Again, thank you so much for the support! Stay tuned for more info!

Cecil County Citizens: Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, was certainly no April Fools’ joke for the residents of the 18-unit building at Owens Landing, a condominium community in Perryville. Twenty-four individuals were displaced as their living quarters burned to the ground. I visited the site and watched with horror as the structure and belongings inside were a total loss. Although four of the residents were injured, it was fortunate that everyone escaped the burning building and sustained no long-term injuries. I cannot recognize and express my appreciation enough for the tremendous work of our volunteer fire department members, first responders from Cecil County Emergency Services, and members of the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies. Additionally, I would like to commend the crew from Perry Point Fire Company for being first on the scene and for their heroic efforts in rescuing an elderly resident from the blaze.
