For the 32nd consecutive year, Cecil County Government has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

“This award is made possible by the diligence and commitment of the entire finance department,” said Lisa Saxton, Director of Finance. “We are very proud and honored to receive this recognition for exceptional governmental accounting and financial reporting for the 32nd year in a row.”

“I am tremendously proud of our finance team for their consistent, accurate and thorough reporting. They are a cohesive unit led by Director Lisa Saxton and Deputy Director Jeffrey Koss,” said County Executive Alan McCarthy. “This award is indicative of the incredible work being done throughout Cecil County Government.”

The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
