NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY: VLT Local Community Grant For FY 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 15, 2019
Elkton, MD. – Cecil County Executive Dr. Alan J. McCarthy is pleased to announce the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) Grant Program for FY 2020.
Because Cecil County has a video lottery terminal (casino) in the county, nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations and state, county and municipal government agencies are eligible to apply for grants to improve local resources and services in the community. Grant applications must indicate how the funding will be used to address the needs of the community and/or population served in one of four purpose areas, identified in the County’s Strategic Plan: Economic Development, Education, Infrastructure, or Safe, Healthy and Active Communities.
There are no major revisions to the FY2020 Notice of Funding Availability, but interested applicants should be sure to complete the current year’s application form. An informational workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11 AM for interested parties to receive an overview of the NOFA and to ask questions. The workshop will take place in the Elk Room of the Cecil County Administration Building, 200 Chesapeake Boulevard, Elkton, MD.
The deadline for applications is Friday, May 10, 2019, by the close of business (4:30 PM). Funding for the VLT grant program is contingent upon the availability of revenue from the gaming facility in Perryville, which is provided to the County through a Local Impact Grant from the State of Maryland, and upon approved County budget authority.
The NOFA and application are available on the Cecil County website at http://www.ccgov.org/government/community-services. The document is entitled “Application for VLT FY2020.” You may also contact Barbara Smith in the Department of Community Services, 410-996-8430 or email@example.com.
