Cecil County Director of Finance, Winston Robinson Announces Retirement

ELKTON, MD. -- Late Tuesday, Winston L. Robinson, Cecil County Government's Director of Finance announced that he will retire effective January 12, 2018.
Robinson was appointed to the position of Director of Finance in December 2012 by former County Executive Tari Moore, as confirmed by County Council, during the County's transition to charter government, making him the first Director of Finance in Cecil County Government history.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Robinson worked in the private sector in various audit, accounting, and management capacities including Audit Manager of The Washington Post Company and Controller of Kaplan Education Centers. He also worked as Finance Manager and Senior Financial Analyst with The City of Wilmington, Delaware from 1995 to 2001. He served as Accounting Manager, as appointed by former Cecil County Treasurer Pamela Howard, from 2001 to 2006, and was Senior Financial Officer for The City of Wilmington from 2006 to 2012.
Robinson graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1971 and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Delaware.
"Mr. Robinson has been an asset to Cecil County and his knowledge and experience will be missed tremendously," said Director of Administration Al Wein.

Lisa Saxton, Deputy Director, will be assuming his responsibilities upon his departure.
